9:10-10:10 AM
BREAKOUT SESSION I

1) Leadership: The Driving Forces: This session will show us that leadership is truly an “inside-out” affair. Why can two women learn the same leadership “skills” and one be successful while the other flounders? Learn about the habitual thoughts and patterns of action that drive us all.

Marie Peeler, leadership coach, principal of Peeler Associates

2) Multigenerational Workforce: We Can All Play In the Same Sandbox: What workforce trends are shaping your company's future culture, regardless of the size of your enterprise? One significant trend is that the workforce will be comprised of four very different generations, working side-by-side, which will create more complex challenges for organizations. This workshop will help you understand these generational differences, the challenges they present for employers, and offer concrete suggestions on how to design creative solutions to give you a competitive advantage in recruiting, retaining and motivating talent.

Kari Heistad, acting diversity officer, Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc., founder and CEO, Culture Coach International

3) Seven Things That Every Savvy Woman Needs to Know to be Wealthy: Women are earning and spending more than ever before. Women are making the majority of financial decisions. Yet, all too often, women are afraid of money matters. Well, no more! Through this discussion, we will cover simple steps to motivate and inspire you about your money. You will feel empowered about your financial future and what it takes to create wealth.

Paula Harris, co-founder and principal, WH Cornerstone Investments

4) Bringing Joy and Passion to Your Work: Learn how to transform yourself and your workplace by incorporating love, light and laughter into all you do. This workshop will teach you how to find passion and joy in your work again with these simple techniques.

Linda Joy, publisher of Aspire Magazine

NETWORKING BREAK

BREAKOUT SESSION II

5) Five Ways to Improve Your Profits: Learn to develop a step-by-step marketing plan that increases your profits and frees up your time for other activities. By modestly turning up the activity in five areas of your business, you can increase your present profits by 46 percent and your bottom line by 61 percent. This is a valuable exercise, whether you are in business for yourself or have responsibility and accountability for your company's financial results.

Valerie Glynn, principal, ActionCOACH

6) Mentors: How Valuable Are They?: Advance your career and improve your performance at work. One of the most valuable assets your career can have is a good mentor. Mentors willingly share their expertise and knowledge, provide guidance and insight, and set high expectations for performance. Learn more about the value of a mentor, qualities of a good mentor and how to create a mutually rewarding mentoring relationship.

Sheila Whitaker, principal and founder, Breakingthru

7) The “Why” and “How to” of Networking: Overcome your fears of facing a room full of strangers by understanding why you network, how to confidently “work the room,” and how to overcome your resistance to making that follow-up call. Learn the Kintish method of how to prepare yourself mentally for a networking event; how to approach and read two-, three- and four-person groups; and how to enter and exit short network conversations gracefully. Tip sheet and practice session are included.

Louise Howard, Workforce Business Developer

Learn ways to create pleasant and profitable interactions with your customers, and you will also learn the words to use and the words to lose – all to create great customer service experiences for you AND your customers. Learn what customers hear when you talk with them, and how to overcome their resistance to working with you to resolve problems. There will be handouts and time for practicing what you learn.
